Services

I aim to provide an individualised treatment plan for all of our clients. The current services include Sports Massage and Deep Tissue Massage.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a targeted treatment designed to support active lifestyles, aid recovery, and prevent injury. Whether you're training regularly, returning from an injury, or simply dealing with muscle tension from daily activities, sports massage helps keep your body moving well.

What to Expect:

- Focus on specific muscle groups to address areas of tension, discomfort, or reduced mobility.

-Techniques tailored to your activity level, helping to improve performance, speed up recovery, and reduce the risk of injury.

- Great for everyone, not just athletes—ideal for gym-goers, runners, or anyone with a physically demanding job or routine.

- Helps with flexibility and circulation, while also relieving aches caused by repetitive movements or postural strain.

Each session is adapted to your needs, whether you're preparing for an event, recovering after one, or just need relief from tight muscles.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a focused, therapeutic technique designed to target the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It's especially effective for relieving long-term tension, stiffness, and discomfort. Anyone dealing with chronic pain, poor posture, or muscle tightness can benefit.

What to Expect:

- Firm, controlled pressure is used to work through layers of tension and reach underlying muscles and fascia.

- Pain relief and improved mobility, especially for those experiencing ongoing discomfort in areas like the back, shoulders, or legs.

- Breaks down adhesions and knots, which can form after injuries or build up over time due to stress or repetitive strain.

- Ideal for those with chronic issues, postural imbalances, or physically demanding lifestyles. Deep tissue massage can target the problem areas and be used in conjuction with other therapies.

Deep tissue massage can be intense at times, but the goal is always to work within your comfort level and deliver lasting relief.

About me

I've had a deep-rooted passion for sports and physical activity from a young age. Growing up, I spent much of my time horse riding and going to the gym, which helped shape my appreciation for movement, discipline, and the importance of physical well-being. As someone who leads an active lifestyle, I understand the physical demands that training and day-to-day life can place on the body. I've personally experienced how pain, discomfort, or muscular tension can affect not only performance but also overall well-being and quality of life. This first-hand understanding fuels my passion for sports massage therapy and drives my commitment to helping others move more freely.

Background

Studying both sports and biology at A level laid a strong foundation for my understanding of the human body. This passion led me to pursue a degree in Sports, Health and Exercise Science, where I developed a deeper knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the science behind performance and recovery. Since then, I have qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist and continue to further my education, staying up to date with the latest techniques and research.

Frequently asked questions

This is my first treatment, what should I expect?

Before your appointment, you’ll be asked to complete a consultation form covering any relevant medical conditions or contraindications to ensure the treatment is safe and tailored to you.

At the start of the session, your therapist will carry out a postural assessment and simple range of movement tests to identify areas of imbalance or restriction. You’ll also have a consultation to discuss any specific concerns or goals you have for the treatment.

This information helps your therapist focus the massage on the areas that need the most attention—whether it’s relieving muscle tension, improving mobility, or supporting recovery.

What are contraindications? Do I need consent from my GP or other health practitioner?

As a part of the first appointment, the consultation forum will highlight any contraindications, as well as any medical conditions that may mean massage is not suitable. In the event of anything preventing treatment, medical consent will be sought before proceeding.

Local contraindications include bruises, verrucae, or recent scar tissue, and in these cases,  the affected area will be avoided during treatment.

General contraindications may mean that the massage should only go ahead with approval from your GP or healthcare provider. These include things like colds or flu, high blood pressure, or being in the first trimester of pregnancy.

What should I wear for my massage? Will my privacy be respected?

Your comfort and privacy are always prioritised. Underwear or shorts are to be worn at all times during the massage. For posture assessments, it is helpful to wear shorts or swimwear-style clothing that you feel comfortable in. Avoid wearing anything that could be stained by oils or creams.

Before the treatment starts, your therapist will leave the room so you can undress in private and get comfortable on the table, covering yourself with a towel. Only the area being treated will be uncovered during the session. After your massage, your therapist will step again to give you privacy while you get dressed.

What should I do during my massage?

Your comfort is a top priority throughout the session. Your therapist will guide you as needed and may adjust your position to ensure effective treatment.

Some clients prefer to relax quietly with their eyes closed, while others enjoy chatting. You're welcome to ask questions about the massage or specific techniques being used.

If the pressure feels too light or too firm, if you are too warm or too cold, or uncomfortable in any way, please let your therapist know. Adjustments can be made at any point to ensure you remain comfortable and relaxed.

How will I feel after my massage?

The majority of people feel relaxed and relieved after a massage. However, it is not uncommon to feel mild soreness after a massage, especially after a deeper massage. This usually goes away after a few days.

Since toxins are released from your muscle tissue during massage, it is recommended that you drink plenty of water post-treatment so that the toxins are flushed out from your bloodstream rather than being reabsorbed into the muscles.
